National School of Business Management (NSBM) Green University, Sri Lanka organizes the sixth International Conference on Business Innovation (ICOBI) under the theme: "Accelerating Societal Change Through Digital Transformation". ICOBI 2023 will be held on 24th of November 2023 at the NSBM Green University premises, creating a common platform to bring together like-minded people: local and international academics, industry experts and entrepreneurs with the passion for building a discourse and disseminating their experience and knowledge on respective fields of study.
Professor Archie C.A. Clements (BVSc (Hons 1) (Syd) MVM (Glas) PhD (Lond) FACTM) joined the University of Plymouth in September 2022 as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Research and Innovation. In 2006, he obtained his PhD at Royal Veterinary College, University of London. Prof. Clements is a member of the University Executive Group responsible for the development and implementation of the University’s research strategy. He is the Chairperson of the University Research and Innovation Committee, the University Research Ethics and Integrity Committee and the Strategic Institutes Steering Group. Further, he has been concurrently appointed as the Professor of Global Health in the Peninsula Medical School (2014-2016). Prior to joining University of Plymouth, he was the Pro Vice-Chancellor leading the Faculty of Health Sciences at Curtin University, Western Australia for over four years (2018-2022) and Director of the Research School of Population Health at the Australian National University back in 2014 to 2018. Prof. Clements is an infectious disease epidemiologist and has studied the spatial epidemiology of parasitic, bacterial, and viral diseases in tropical regions of the world. He has also worked on community-based intervention studies exploring the role of multi-component, integrated strategies for sustainable infectious disease control. As of September 2022, he has co-authored approximately 300 peer-reviewed publications and been a chief investigator on competitively awarded research grants valued at over £18M.
Professor Roshan Gabriel Ragel is the Head / Senior Lecturer of the Department of Computer Engineering, University of Peradeniya. He has been a Professional Member of the IEEE and IEEE Computer Society since 2005 and a Senior Member since 2014. He is also a Professional Member of the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM). Prof. Ragel is also the consulting Chief Executive Officer at the Lanka Research and Education Network (LEARN), the national NREN, and the Vice-Chair of the Asi@Connect Steering Committee. At the national level, Prof. Ragel was a Core Group member for Higher Education at the Presidential Task Force for Education set up in 2020. He is a member of the UGC Standing Committee on the Development of IT Infrastructure and Online Education and UGC appointed committee to develop the Concept of Virtual / Hybrid University. Prof. Ragel has co-authored almost 200 peer-reviewed articles on topics including Systems on Chip, the Internet of Things, Bioinformatics, Wearable Computing, and Digitisation of Local Language Text. He has won several best paper awards for conference papers, the most prolific Sri Lankan author award from Elsevier Research in 2017 and the Presidential Award for Scientific Publication in Sri Lanka in 2018. He was also named a Top Scientist in Computer Science (CS) in Sri Lanka in 2021 and 2022 and the Best Scientist in CS in the country in 2023 by AD Scientific Index. With his present h-index of 23 (i10-index of 42), he is also recognised as a Tier 4* awardee by the University of Peradeniya for Research Excellence under the Transparent Research Performance Scheme introduced by the University Grants Commission (UGC) Sri Lanka. He was a visiting research scholar at the UNSW – Sydney, QUT – Brisbane, UIUC – Illinois and ANU – Canberra.
